A lot of world records are quite arbitrary, and the top finishers cling onto their title for several years before trying to break the record.
There are a lot of bizarre world records involving food.
Jack told Guinness, “The first pepper is the worst,” following his record-breaking performance. “The heat hits you hard at the beginning. Although the second one doesn’t look as unpleasant, as the peppers hit different areas of your mouth, they get progressively hotter.”
Jack holds many Guinness World Records in addition to this one.
Together with his wife, he also holds the records for the longest habanero pepper kiss (8.56 seconds), the fastest time to drink a liter of tomato sauce (1 minute, 5.56 seconds), and the fastest time to down a bottle of spicy sauce (8.56 seconds).
There was a 15-minute and 6.5-second kiss.
I ate most of the mayonnaise in three minutes
As much mayo as you like to slather on your sandwich, nobody has eaten as much as Michelle Lesco.
On December 13, 2018, Lesco of Las Vegas broke the record for the most mayonnaise consumed in three minutes, as per Guinness World Records.
Lesco downed 2,448 grams, or roughly three and a half jars, of mayo by the spoonful.
