According to a recent West Virginia University study, vaping is more mentally fulfilling and addicting than nicotine gum, especially for young individuals between the ages of 18 and 24.
Particularly among people who have never smoked traditional cigarettes, the findings raise grave concerns over the growing popularity of e-cigarettes.
16 volunteers, all between the ages of 18 and 24, who were either current or former smokers, participated in the study. After being denied nicotine for the whole night, these people were instructed to chew nicotine gum or vape for half an hour the next morning. After that, researchers evaluated their emotions, desires, and level of mental contentment.
Compared to those who used nicotine gum, those who vaped reported less nicotine cravings and more mental happiness.
