According to an official, an ill infant boy, four days old, was brought to the hospital a few days ago by his parents for medical attention.
He added that throughout the course of the therapy, the physicians determined that the baby had died due to problems and gave his father, Irfan, custody of his remains, which he subsequently sent to his hometown of Gujranwala for burial.
According to the official, things took an unexpected turn when Irfan returned carrying a baby girl’s body and informed the hospital management that he had actually brought his son to the Children’s Hospital for treatment rather than the girl.
The hospital administration was completely taken aback by the citizen’s claim and promptly ordered an investigation.
Subsequently, the official revealed that the baby boy had apparently gone “missing.”
He revealed the aforementioned account in his complaint, which he submitted with the Naseerabad police station, alleging that the hospital administration swapped his baby boy’s corpse for the girl’s dead body.
He requested that his son’s recovery be guaranteed and asked the police to file a report accusing the hospital’s administrative staff and the offending physicians of committing the crime. Three senior doctors from the Children’s Hospital formed an investigating committee after the Punjab Health Department became aware of the incident.
The committee was instructed to look into the situation as soon as possible and provide a report so that the public may learn the truth.
