A1 (MEight-month-old Zackary Blades and his 30-year-old aunt Karlene Warner perished at the scene after the Peugeot 308 they were riding in on the A1(M) was struck early on May 31.
During Zackary’s victim impact statement on Tuesday, she told Durham Crown Court that his car seat flew from the vehicle and that the impact of the crash left his body on the other side of the road, where a truck driver found it.
‘Oh no, he’s here – your baby’s arrived,’ the truck driver cried in agony. She claimed, “I jumped over and found my baby lying on the edge of the motorway’s grass.”;
