Dutch climber Riemerhens Richard and Pakistani mountaineer Salma Masood were saved by the Pakistan Army on Wednesday during a humanitarian rescue operation.
On Wednesday, the two mountaineers were transported to Skardu via army helicopter.
A Pakistani mountaineer who became ill during the expedition and headed for Broad Peak a day ago asked for medical assistance.
Throughout the trek, the Dutch mountaineer suffered from altitude sickness and respiratory difficulties, which prompted him to ask the Pakistan Army for evacuation.
The Pakistan Army promptly dispatched a helicopter to rescue the two mountaineers upon hearing their request for evacuation. The Pakistan Army was commended by both mountaineers for acting quickly and arriving in time to save them.
