The bones were found in a Nairobi slum called Mukuru in a quarry.
According to Mohamed Amin, the chief of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, 33, has admitted to killing 42 women between 2022 and 2023, including his wife.
Mr. Amin continued, “It is crystallizing that we are dealing with a serial killer, a psychopathic serial killer who has no respect for human life,” but they offered no proof to back up his assertions.
On Tuesday, Khalusha is anticipated to appear in court.
Although it was reported on Friday that one of the victims retrieved was male, authorities later stated on Monday that the nine bodies discovered so far were all female.
According to Mr. Amin, Khalusha is accused of luring 42 women to their deaths and then disposing of their bodies in the quarry.
The most recent reported murder, he said, happened on July 11.
At Khalusha’s residence, police reported finding multiple cell phones, identity cards, a machete that they suspected was used to chop up the victims, industrial rubber gloves, rolls of Sellotape, and twelve nylon bags identical to the ones the victims were discovered in.
Over the weekend, large crowds flocked to see the remains being removed from the quarry; some of them ended up fighting with the police.
