Visiting the nation for the European Political Community (EPC) summit, the Ukrainian leader will inform the new cabinet on the state of the war and “the need to ramp up Europe’s defence industrial base to outpace the Russian threat” at a meeting at Downing Street.
Not only would it be the first time a president has addressed the cabinet in person since former US president Bill Clinton in 1997, but it will also mark the first time Sir Keir Starmer has hosted a foreign leader since taking office as prime minister.
The gathering follows an agreement made during the summit by 44 European nations and the European Union.
The government claims the nation employs this collection of over 6,000 ships, which move 1.7 million barrels of oil daily, to “generate significant funds to fuel its war machine,” while some have speculated that the ships may also be used as weapons or listening posts.
