The Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Husain Al-Musallam, has played a significant role in raising Asian sports’ profile internationally. The OCA has made great strides in its operations, athlete support, and international partnerships since he has been in charge.
Al-Musallam has been a steadfast supporter of integrity and openness in sports management. His work resulted in the creation of the Athletes’ Committee and the Aquatics Integrity Unit, two programs meant to guarantee fair play and athlete representation inside the organization.
One of his noteworthy accomplishments is the adept planning and administration of important athletic events around Asia. Al-Musallam was crucial in directing the planning of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, making sure that all agreements were made and that construction schedules were followed.Al-Musallam has also made a significant effort to support Asian sports media. At the 24th AIPS Asia Congress in Seoul, he commended the media for helping to position the continent at the forefront of international sport and emphasized how important they were to the success of competitions like the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and the Asian Games.
