The TV presenter and former England cricket all-rounder suffered significant face injuries and fractured ribs during a crash while filming Top Gear at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey, in December 2022.
Flintoff had been out of the public eye for a long period before returning to cricket as a coach.
The cricket legend opened up about his comeback in an interview for the second season of Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams at the beginning of 2018.
“I figured I could just shake it off. I wanted to shake it off and say ‘everything’s fine,’ but that hasn’t been the case.”
He continued, “It’s been a lot harder than I expected. I wanted to go out and do things, but I haven’t been able to.
“I battle with anxiousness. I have nightmares and flashbacks. It’s been very difficult to deal with.”
Previously, the news stated that it had reached a financial deal with Flintoff valued at £9 million, according to The Sun.
A Studios representative stated: “Studios has struck an agreement with Freddie that we feel will benefit his further rehabilitation, return to work, and future ambitions.
