According to a Business Recorder story, the 884-MW Suki Kinari hydropower facility is scheduled to start up for commercial use by the end of August 2024. One of the top priority early harvest projects within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is being constructed by the Chinese business SK Hydro.
The Suki Kinari hydropower project, situated in the Mansehra area, is nearing completion and is being carried out by SK Hydro, a subsidiary of the China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC), a state-owned enterprise in China.
Through a recently built 500kV transmission line, the Suki Kinari hydropower plant will soon start delivering low-cost, green power to the national grid. As a result, Pakistan will save billions of dollars by being less dependent on expensive imports of natural gas and crude oil.
