A throng surged in reaction to announcements of things available at low pricing, causing disruption and damage during the launch of a shopping center in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar district on Friday.

Stick-wielding individuals stormed the venue after the management opted to seal the doors because of the large number of attendees. Things got out of hand very soon, which caused a lot of disruption for the first event.

The public became enraged with the management’s decision to close the mart when the throng became unmanageable, despite the shopping center having advertised exceptional deals for the launch. During the commotion, police were conspicuously absent; nonetheless, the management of the bazaar eventually requested reinforcements.

SSP East Farukh Raza claims that after the bazaar closed, a few “troublemakers” appeared.
