Due to strong storms and a lot of rain, thousands of dead fish have washed up on the shores of Keamari in Karachi.
Because of the unfavorable weather, debris from the sea has mingled with the water, contaminating Karachi Harbor’s mangrove areas and coastal areas.
Thousands of dead fish have been discovered along the coast, including mullet and spotted skate.
Fish fatalities are a “localized event and not widespread,” according to Maaz Khan, Technical Director of WWF. It has been alleged that fishermen are gathering dead fish to sell to facilities that feed chickens.
Khan issued a warning against utilizing these fish, stating that they “may be unhealthy for consumption due to pollution.”
