After the recent storm that threatened Karachi passed, the city was left in a state of chaos, revealing the weaknesses in the city’s infrastructure and the incompetence of the municipal authorities. The torrential rains have now decreased to a drizzle.
Even though the rain has stopped, Karachi is now dealing with fresh difficulties. The city, which was always vulnerable to flooding, is now rife with issues since sewage and rainwater are left stagnant in numerous places. The state of degradation on both main roads and inner streets has been made worse by the local authorities’ inability to maintain the drainage system.
One important route that is especially impacted is the Korangi Causeway, which has significant damage to huge portions of the road.
