The Punjab government, in an attempt to strengthen citizen self-defense, has made a huge move in the direction of firearms shooting clubs, which are being promoted in all of the province’s major cities, including Lahore.
The Punjab Cabinet is anticipated to approve the suggestions made by the Ministry of Law to alter the Punjab Arms Rules soon.
The proposed revisions state that anyone who does not have a criminal record will be able to apply for a license to operate a firearms shooting club. The candidate must be at least thirty years old and in possession of a current national identity card. Any court conviction will prevent a person from being eligible to apply for a license.
The changes also institute a more efficient procedure for founding gun-shooting clubs, requiring online applications to be filed.
