News has learned that Skarper, a 2020 startup, has raised an extra £4.5 million from a consortium of renowned financiers.
Skarper has developed a unique lightweight, portable motor system that attaches to the disc brake rotors of standard bicycles to convert them into high-performing electric bikes with a 50 km range.
Dr. Alastair Darwood, the founder of the company, designed the Skarper gadget, which can be unplugged in the same amount of time to convert it back into a standard bike.
The engineers of the corporation worked with the Formula to design the technology.
Leading businessmen and entrepreneurs in the UK make up Adjuvo, a network of angel investors that has supported several successful start-ups, and they are spearheading this investment round.
Current Skarper investors Yaron Kottler, chairman of engineering and cybersecurity services company Resilion, Mobilitech Capital, a global consumer products manufacturer, and Starry Group also took part in the funding round.
