Tuesday’s monsoon rains have led to an increase in pink eye (conjunctivitis) infections in Punjab.
In the public hospitals, 907 cases of pink eye infection had been reported in the previous day, according to the details. Multan had reported ninety-three cases, while Jhang had reported 106. There were 83 and 41 instances recorded by Bhakkar and DG Khan, respectively.
Within a day, Lahore recorded 11 cases. Over the previous 30 days, 13,473 instances had been reported to the public hospitals.
The Punjab Health Department reports that during the current year, there has been a 5% decrease in the number of instances of pink eye illness.
