Images shared on social media revealed that one of the planes’ tails had been severed.
According to Delta Air Lines, during taxiing for takeoff, one of its aircraft collided with a regional jet, causing damage to both of them.
Passengers would be rebooked on other flights, according to Delta, and no injuries were recorded.
According to the airline, the Endeavor Air CRJ-900 due to fly for Lafayette, Louisiana, and the wing of a Delta Airbus A350 that was scheduled to depart for Tokyo-Haneda made touch with each other. Delta owns a subsidiary called Endeavor.
It further stated that the A350’s wing and the regional jet’s tail were both damaged in the collision.
“Another plane appears to have clipped the back of our plane,” a man on one of the aircraft tweeted.
The FAA declared that it will look into the matter.
It follows an earlier collision this year at London’s Heathrow Airport involving two aircraft.
As the empty Virgin Atlantic 787 was being dragged from the stand at Terminal 3, the British Airways Airbus A350’s wingtip was clipped.
The jets, rescue services, and ground crew on the runway are all shown with minimal damage in the footage of the incident.
