According to police officials, a guy who was detained on charges of blasphemy was shot and killed by a police officer on Thursday.
The man, a Muslim, was taken into custody in Quetta, Balochistan on Wednesday following the global success of his video and the filing of a case against him.
Later, a group of about 200 youths stormed the police station where he was being kept, compelling the officials to transfer him to a different station.
The chief of police in Balochistan, Moazzam Jah Ansari, told AFP that “an on-duty policeman attacked him inside the lockup and shot him dead.”
He declared, “We have him under arrest and have filed a murder case against him.”
Senior local police official Muhammad Baloch also verified the information to AFP.
