QUETTA: The News said on Friday that a police constable at the Cantonment Police Station in Quetta shot a prisoner who was being held on blasphemy charges.
After a video went viral on social media on Wednesday, Abdul Ali was hauled into prison and a charge was filed against him at the Kharotabad Police Station.
A sizable group of people gathered outside the police station after the purported video went viral, demanding that they be given custody of the culprit.
The suspect was moved to the Cantonment Police Station when a top Quetta Police officer said that the large number of protestors made the Kharotabad Police Station insecure.
However, Syed Khan Sarhadi, a police officer, shot and killed Ali, who was charged under Section 295-C.
