INTL AMADABAD/WASHINGTON: Ballistic missiles and controlled missile technology and equipment were being sent to Pakistan, according to the US Department of State, which claimed it has taken action against five organizations and one person.
As per the statement released on Thursday by Matthew Miller, the department’s spokesperson, Pakistan and the Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machine Building Industry collaborated to acquire equipment for testing rocket motors intended for the Shaheen-3 and Ababeel systems, as well as possibly larger systems.
Likewise, in October 2023, Washington imposed penalties on three Chinese businesses for providing Pakistan with items relevant to missiles.
The Chinese national Innovative Equipment, based in Pakistan, as well as the Chinese businesses Hubei Huachangda Intelligent Equipment Co., Universal Enterprise, and Xi’an Longde Technology Development Co. were also singled out by the sanctions for knowing to transfer equipment that was restricted by missile technology, according to Miller.
