In the midst of a regional confrontation with parties in Iraq and Syria that are linked with Iran, the United States is sending 1,500 troops to these countries, supposedly to combat ISIL (ISIS).
Before their deployment, which is said to be their largest since 2008, New Jersey state governor Phil Murphy was seen praising and honoring soldiers from the New Jersey Army National Guard, according to a report by the US media .
Before traveling to the Middle East, the soldiers will first receive training at Fort Bliss in Texas.
This is taking place in the midst of at least 130 US base targets by US-opposed forces in Iraq and Syria since the beginning of the Gaza War.
The Syrian government views US forces as “occupying” forces.
