Social media footage from Friday night in Boston shows 65-year-old Farrell get agitated as they sang their 1986 hit Ocean Size.
The vocalist is seen shoving Navarro in the face as he approaches and then violently shoving shoulders with the guitarist.
After a while, Navarro, 57, stopped playing and raised a palm to his chest while Farrell persisted in yelling at his old partner.
Then, as others, including bassist Eric Avery, moved in to break it up, he hit Navarro in the shoulder.
Navarro then left the stage and removed his instrument, as more members of the crew continued to detain Farrell.
Farrell was seen being hauled off stage while still seemed to be struggling.
Perry lost his cool because “night after night… his voice was being drowned out by the band,” according to Etty Lau Farrell, his wife, who posted about it on Instagram.”For the next half hour” [backstage], her husband broke down and “cried and cried,” she said, calling him “a crazed beast.”
Part of their Imminent Redemption reunion tour, the Boston show concluded after 11 songs, Variety reported, adding that they usually performed 14 or 15 songs.
