He is said to have brought an AK-47-style gun to the Trump International Golf Course in Florida on Sunday. The firearm and scope were found by the FBI.
Despite being able to flee in his vehicle, Routh seems to have been noticed by a bystander who captured a picture of the black Nissan he was operating.
They issued an urgent warning for the vehicle. Two police retrieved Mr. Routh’s car and followed it for forty-five minutes after the pistol was discovered at the golf course, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.
Eventually, he was apprehended after being stopped on Interstate 95.
