Following the vicious assault, the victim was left injured as the suspects left the scene.
The event took place near Allah Hu Chowk, when Abdul Rehman, 17, was publicly tortured by armed suspects that included Irham Khokhar, Maaz Khokhar, Ashar Khan, and five other unidentified accomplices.
A later-released video clip from the incident also showed the victim being thrashed by the armed youths.
In a phone conversation with Dawn, the victim’s brother Zulfqernain said that the individuals responsible for Rehman’s abuse were part of the “Sherry Khokar 666 gang” in Lahore and had previously subjected multiple other children to similar forms of torture.
According to him, the suspects have taken on a frightening persona, especially around Johar Town and the neighboring areas, as they ride motorcycles in gangs and flash their arms.
