Authorities nationwide have gathered more than 114 billion and 245 million rupees from individuals who steal electricity. As part of this ongoing operation, about 84,643 people who were involved in electricity theft have been caught.
More than 1 billion and 183 million rupees were retrieved by pertinent agencies in September alone from power thieves in a number of cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and others. In the same month, 123 people were taken into custody for stealing electricity.
