SWABI: An explosion inside a police station in the Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkwa resulted in at least one fatality and eighteen injuries, according to Commissioner Mardan Division Javed Marwat on Thursday.
The explosion appeared to have happened “due to a short circuit” inside a depot on the first floor of the police station, according to an early report that the Central Police Office received.
Teams dedicated to rescue and firefighting arrived on the site almost once, and they began transporting the injured police officers to Bacha Khan Medical, where an emergency order had been issued.
The building was impacted by the power blast and caught fire; however, it was put out quickly by firefighting services.
Fifteen injured police officers have been sent to the hospital, according to rescue officials.
