The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rescheduled protests in the wake of altercations with the police in Rawalpindi. Following a protest and altercations with law enforcement, the revised dates were declared.
An altercation occurred because police had erected barricades throughout the city to keep PTI employees from congregating in Liaquat Bagh.
The PTI’s new central information secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, thanked the party’s employees for taking part in the demonstrations and said they supported the party’s cause in spite of government limitations in a video message.
Akram declared in his video message that on October 2, the PTI would stage sizable demonstrations in Multan, Mianwali, and Faisalabad. He urged everyone to attend, stressing that taking part in these protests is a responsibility.
