In Sunday’s Charlottesville Open final, Muhammad Asim Khan defeated England’s top-seeded player Nick Wall to win his maiden Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour title.
The match lasted 65 minutes, and the unseeded Khan emerged victorious, winning 3-1 after losing the opening game 12–14. After then, he mounted an incredible comeback, winning the next three games 12-10, 11-5, and 11-6 to guarantee the win.
Khan not only won the championship trophy in the Charlottesville Open, a PSA World Tour Copper tournament with a $28,750 prize payout, but he also gained 500 crucial ranking points, which significantly raised his world ranking.
Throughout the competition, Khan put up strong performances that helped him win the title.
He defeated Mexican Cesar Salazar in the semifinals with ease, winning 11-5, 11-5.
