During a ceremony on Monday at Karachi’s historic Frere Hall, Senior Director KMC Sports and Culture Raza Abbas gave artist Saifi Soomro his “lost” works.
The paintings were created in 2016 by Soomro, a native of Daharki in the Ghotki area, and they were sent to the Frere Hall for display in 2017.
When Soomro requested his paintings to be returned following the exhibition, he was informed that they had vanished and could not be found again.
However, after almost seven years, an intriguing development occurred when a drama including a scene from the Frere Hall museum was broadcast on a private channel. When Soomro viewed that sight, he was startled to discover his lost paintings on exhibit.
