Four days after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rallies at D-Chowk brought the city to a standstill, life in Islamabad has returned to normal. Roadside containers that had been obstructing traffic have been moved out of the way.
The regular routes of public transportation have been resumed; however, the Rawalpindi service has been restored, while the Islamabad Metro Bus service has been temporarily suspended.
Following their closure on October 3 due to the PTI protest, Islamabad’s roads and thoroughfares have reopened. After four days, the containers blocking important roads in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been removed.
Schools, shops, and government offices have reopened. Major routes including Jinnah Avenue, the Express Highway, the Srinagar Highway, and Faizabad are all clear of traffic.
