Around 7.35 p.m. on Sunday, David Graham, 38, was attacked in General’s Gate, Uddingston.
After being transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, Mr. Graham, a resident of Cambuslang, was declared deceased upon arrival.
A silver automobile that was spotted parked close to the crime site and then driven off has police looking for it.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie stated: “At this very trying moment, our sympathies are with Mr. Graham’s family and friends.
“A committed group of law enforcement officials is striving to find the culprits and provide them with answers.
“We have already had conversations with several individuals who assisted Mr. Graham.”
Drivers who have dashcams and were in the General’s Gate or Old Glasgow Road areas on Sunday night are asked to review their recordings in case they have any information that could aid in the inquiry.
To enable the public to send information directly to the inquiry team, an internet gateway has been established.
