It’s been rumored that George Clooney would rather write and direct original movies than appear in them.
The actor from Up in the Air recently spoke with Sky News in an interview. He talked about his experience making the film The Boys on the Boat during this exchange.
Regarding his efforts in Hollywood, Clooney told the magazine that directing a film was very different than acting in one.
The 62-year-old celebrity said, “You have a lot more control and it’s more fun.” I don’t have to learn how to be a badass; I get to boss them about.”
“It really is enjoyable to come in in the morning, write a screenplay, and then have someone construct the set that you wrote,”
The American actor and director continued, saying, “You can’t just do one thing as you get older; you need to have other things to do.” Many people don’t understand that I get to do the things I enjoy at the age of 62, thus I consider myself fortunate.
“I’m well aware of it, and I celebrate it because, you know, if I’m not having fun, I think people would be really pissed off,” Clooney said in closing. You say, “If you’re not enjoying that, then, you know, then who knows,” if they look at my life.
