Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan, acknowledged that England’s huge innings and 47-run victory in Multan on Friday gave his team a “harsh reality” lesson on how to win a Test.
On Day 5, England’s attack quickly dispatched the final four Pakistani batsmen, dismissing the hosts for 220 runs and taking the opening wicket in the three-match series.
Despite Pakistan’s first-inning total of 556, England managed to win, scoring the fourth-highest Test score of 823-7 in response.
Masood, who has lost all six Test matches since being named captain last year, added, “It can’t be more disappointing than this.”
Masood, who scored, stated, “England taught us the harsh reality on how to find a way to win a Test match which we couldn’t find.”
