Defense Secretary John Healey refused to permit military families to be excused from the policy, which will go into effect in January, during his Monday speech in parliament.
Mr. Healey responded that the government is “looking very closely” at how it can continue to contribute to military families’ boarding school tuition as part of their package when asked if he would do so by Conservative shadow defense minister James Cartlidge.
Many families must send their children to boarding school even though they are not qualified for the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA), Mr. Cartlidge told News.
He claimed that “unaffordable increases… because of this government’s ideological decision” could lead seasoned military members to resign.Families must continue to live together; children must be at least eight years old; and the family must be anticipated to move within the next four years.
• Until the child’s present educational stage is over, families must agree to maintain them in the same school.
• Kids need to be assigned to the appropriate year group.
