India decided to bat on a lively, seaming pitch after the first day was ruined by rain, and they were dismissed for the third-lowest score in their Test history.
Seamers Matt Henry and Will O’Rourke took 5-15 and 4-22, respectively, outing Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
The only hitters to reach double figures for India, who lead the World Test Championship standings, were Rishabh Pant (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13).
Only their 36 all out against Australia in Adelaide beat it as India’s lowest total in a home Test.
