In a fresh attempt to reach a definitive agreement, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh advised his Chinese counterpart that the two nations should look for a “permanent solution” to their long-standing border conflict.
India’s defense ministry said in a statement on Friday that Singh met with China’s Dong Jun during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) defense ministers’ conference in Qingdao on Thursday. Singh emphasized the importance of resolving disputes between the two nations through a systematic roadmap.
“Singh also stressed on border management and to have a permanent solution of border demarcation by rejuvenating the established mechanism on the issue,” the statement said, alluding to the Asian giants’ border negotiations.
