The Supreme Court’s recent ruling in the reserved seats review case has been sharply criticized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which has described it as a flagrant rejection of justice, a violation of constitutional values, and an extension of state-led repression against the party.
The PTI called the day a “dark chapter in constitutional history” in response to the majority verdict that maintained the distribution of 77 reserved seats to coalition parties. The party also accused the judiciary of robbing the party of its legitimate mandate while supporting the governing class.
