After posting a 2.38 percent positive gain in July, the LSM starts to grow negatively. Since December 2023, the LSM has increased favorably for the previous six months before going negative in June.
The LSM saw a 0.03 percent negative growth in FY24.
August’s LSM industries quantum index was 111.33 points, down from 114.36 points in the same month the previous year. It did, however, rise from 106.35 points in July.
July and August were the first two months for which the LSM showed a negative year-over-year rise of 0.19 percent.
In August, 22 sectors had negative growth, including 11 of them. These industries included computers, electronics and optical goods, paper and board, chemicals, non-metallic mineral products, iron and steel products, manufactured metals, computers, textiles, chemicals, vehicles, and furniture.
