Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the National Assembly, will meet with the parliamentary committee after Tuesday’s meeting.
According to sources, the parliamentary committee would submit its report and recommendations prior to Sadiq’s selection as Pakistan’s next chief justice.
The luncheon honoring the members of the parliamentary committee will also be hosted by Sadiq.
A meeting of a parliamentary committee without PTI –
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reaffirmed earlier today that his party will not be present at the meeting of the parliamentary committee.
Details reveal that the PTI had chosen not to attend the meeting, even though Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar had stated that four members of the parliamentary committee would persuade the PTI and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) to do so.
