However, Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn confronted Broncos head coach Sean Payton following the game, accusing him of trying to increase the score against the appalling Carolina team, which was 1-7.
After the game, footage showed Payton running onto the field to speak with Horn, who was staring at him while Denver kneeled out the remaining seconds to win. Although it’s unclear exactly what was said, a different video released by the news reveals that Horn was angry with Payton about the score.
Reporters questioned Payton about Horn’s dissatisfaction with him as the Broncos celebrated their win and reviewed their footage on Monday.
There was a slight dig in Payton’s response.
I told you so [Sunday] evening. Our goal is to complete the game correctly. We have no intention of upsetting anyone. The National Football League, that is. We are attempting to finish since I have lost games when we had a 28-point lead in the fourth quarter.
