A Shiba Inu named Peanut Butter made gaming history during the annual charity event held by Games Done Quick, according to the New York Post. She was the first dog to race through a video game.
During the Tuesday event, Peanut Butter finished the 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System game “Gyromite” in 26 minutes and 24 seconds. Players speedrun to beat video games as rapidly as possible. The dog contestant was little over two minutes short of breaking the global record.
The owner of Peanut Butter, who goes as JSR on social media, took delight in the accomplishment and said, “I’m very proud of my dog.
For a very long period, we put in a lot of effort to reach the point where we could demonstrate a run at [Amazing Games Done Quick].” Under JSR’s guidance, the Shiba Inu was trained to press buttons on a specially designed controller, and the dog was rewarded with treats.
Games Done Quick has a reputation for producing original speedruns, and Peanut Butter’s achievement gives the run even more depth. The summer event brought in $2.2 million for Doctors Without Borders, while the January 2023 charity marathon garnered $2.6 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
JSR stated that Peanut Butter intends to take part in upcoming occasions and that the goal is to carry on the dog’s gaming heritage at Games Done Quick.
