Six judges from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) wrote a letter accusing the intelligence services of meddling in court matters, and the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has chosen to expand its review of the letter.
According to a Supreme Court press release, the judgment was made at a meeting of the highest court, which was chaired by Justice Yahya Afridi, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, and Chief Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar of the Balochistan High Court attended the conference.
The press release stated that the council’s agenda items included a letter from six justices of the Islamabad High Court and changes to the judges’ code of conduct under Article 209(8) of the Constitution.
