With Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson announcing she will vote against the bill to legalize assisted dying, along with a number of her colleagues, a rift in the cabinet is beginning to form.
At the end of this month, Ms. Phillipson told News that she would vote against the proposed legislation that would allow terminally ill individuals who have six months to live to take their own lives.
“I haven’t changed my mind,” she declared after voting against assisted suicide in 2015.
“I’m still giving this a lot of thought. However, since 2015, my situation has remained unchanged.
