The Pakistani military claimed on Wednesday that at least 12 members of the security forces were killed while thwarting a significant terrorist attack in Bannu, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The military’s propaganda arm, Inter-Services Public Relations, also reported that six terrorists affiliated with Fita-e-khawarij were slain.
Khwarij made an attempt to attack a joint checkpost in the Bannu District’s general MaliKhel area on November 19, 2024. Six Khwarij were condemned to damnation in the ensuing firefight. Own forces successfully blocked the attempt to penetrate the post, forcing the Khwarij to smash an explosive-laden truck into the post’s outer wall, according to an ISPR statement.
