The formation of a bench to hear appeals pertaining to civilian military trials has been referred to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan by the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench Committee, which is chaired by Justice Aminuddin Khan.
The committee made this conclusion at its third meeting on Wednesday, noting that a seven-member bench had declared the outcome of a case involving the military trial of civilians.
Regarding cases involving civilian trials in military courts, the committee stressed the significance of following the ruling of the seven-member bench. The meeting was attended by the registrar, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel.
Important measures to increase the constitutional bench’s effectiveness and transparency were also discussed at the conference, and the classification and compilation were ordered.
