LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has requested the services of Pakistan Rangers Punjab in three districts of the province: Rawalpindi, Attock, and Jhelum, ahead of the November 24 nationwide protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, which they have referred to as their “final call.”
A letter to the Ministry of Interior states that the deployment of one company of Rangers in Jhelum and two wings of Rangers in Rawalpindi and Attock is advised.
Rangers will be stationed in Rawalpindi and Attock starting on Friday, November 22, and remain there till further notice, according to a provincial home department spokeswoman.
Nonetheless, it has been suggested that Rangers be stationed in Jhelum from November 22 to 27. According to the district administration’s recommendation, Rangers were deployed.
