New York: Indian billionaire Gautam Adani’s renewable energy company won what it described as the single largest solar development bid ever given in June 2020: a contract to provide a state-owned power provider with eight gigawatts of electricity.
But something was wrong. The contract was in jeopardy because local power providers refused to pay the prices the state company was proposing, according to US authorities.
