Six international visitors are said to have perished in a terrible incident at a well-known backpacker hotspot in Laos after ingesting tainted beer that may have included methanol.
Two Danish tourists who had been traveling throughout Southeast Asia, Anne-Sofie Orkild Coyman, 20, and Freja Vennervald Sorensen, 21, are among the victims.
Before they abruptly stopped talking and were found dead in their hostel room, they told a buddy that they had been throwing up a lot.
The two women were sleeping at the Nana Backpackers hostel in Vang Vieng, which is thought to be where the poisoned wine came from.
Four other people, including Australian adolescents Holly Bowles and Bianca Jones, have also fallen victim to the suspected poison’s effects in addition to the Danish visitors.
