The Onion’s attempt to acquire Alex Jones’ media company, Infowars, was put on hold for a few more weeks after a court on Monday scheduled a hearing for next month.
In order to assess if The Onion and its parent company, Global Tetrahedron, were justified in their purchase of Infowars at auction, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez set a new hearing for an undisclosed date in December. Additionally, the judge refused to grant Jones’ request for a temporary restraining order to invalidate the bid from the satirical website.
“Let’s see where that process goes,” Lopez stated, adding that he wanted it to be transparent and equitable. “Everyone’s day in court will come.”
