Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), including Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, were terrified and in a panic after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake shook the region on Thursday.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located 212 kilometers below the surface of the Tajikistan-Afghan border, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad.
Peshawar, North Waziristan, Lower Dir, Malakand, AJK’s Neelum Valley, and its surrounding suburbs all experienced earthquake vibrations. In a panic, residents fled their houses and workplaces.
However, as of right now, no locality has reported any casualties or property losses.
Two weeks ago, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake rocked parts of KP, including Peshawar, Mohmand, Shabqadar, Attock, and Swat, making it the second earthquake in a month.
